Child Of Promise

Lyrics:

Oh, Almighty God, Our Holy Adonai,

Remember Israel's plight, and send us Thy promised Child.

What Is This?

Lyrics:

What, oh what is this?

What, oh what is this?

A new star, brighter than all,

Oh, what is this?

Where, where do they go?

Where, where do they go?

Shepherds and kings making haste

Oh, where, where do they go?

Why, why do they sing?

Oh why, why do they sing?

Angels and men sing songs of praise

Oh, why, why do they sing?

How can He love?

How can He love?

So pure, how can He love?

So pure, so sweet, how can He love?

Oh, how, how can He love?

We too must go

We too must sing

We too must love like Him

All That I Am (Elizabeth)

Narration:

It came to pass that in the days of Herod, there was a priest whose name was Zechariah, and his wife's name was Elizabeth.

They were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, and they were blameless.

Elizabeth was barren and advanced in years. However, an angel appeared to Zechariah saying, "Fear not, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will have a son, and you will call him John. And you will feel joy and gladness, and many will rejoice in his birth."

Lyrics:

For years on end we've waited, long nights in tearful pleading

Our trust in Thee's never faded, but our hope is growing fatigued.

There are miracles on the horizon, at least so I feel in my soul

Do I dare let that hope grow within me? When my faith in Thee feels so fragile?

If my heart is right before Thee, if I do not ask in vain

If Thou art willing to grant me this one desire,

I'd give Thee all that I am.

I trust in Thy great wisdom, Thy Holy promise is sure

Though my weathered heart is breaking, this broken heart is still yours!

If my heart is right before Thee, if I do not ask in vain

If Thou art willing to grant me this one desire,

I'd give Thee all that I am. I'd give Thee all that I am!

Let us raise our hearts before Thee, do with them what You will.

We will sing Thy praise and bless Thy name, Oh Lord!

And if I can't have this baby, if our miracle doesn't come,

Through tearful eyes and desperate cries, Oh Lord,

I'll give Thee all that I am. I'll still give Thee all that I am!

Mary, Did You Know?

Narration:

In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a virgin named Mary, saying, "Greeting favored daughter; the Lord is with you."

She was troubled upon hearing these words and the angel said to her, "Do not fear, Mary; you have found grace with God. You will conceive and bear a son, and you will name Him Jesus. He will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his Father, and He will rule the house of Jacob for eternity, and there will be no end to His kingdom."

Lyrics:

Mary, did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water?

Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?

Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?

This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know that your baby boy would give sight to the blind man?

Mary, did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with His hand?

Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?

When you kiss your little baby you've kissed the face of God!

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.

The lame will leap, the dumb will speak the praises of the Lamb!

Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?

Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?

Did you know that your baby boy is Heaven's perfect lamb?

The sleeping Child you're holding is the great I AM!

Mary, did you know?

Alleluia (Shepherds)

Narration:

And it came to pass that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And all went to be taxed, each to his own city. And Joseph went up out of the city of Nazareth into the City of David, which is called Bethlehem to be taxed with Mary, his espoused wife, being great with child.

While they were there, the day came that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

There was in the same country shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord came upon them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, "Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy."

"For unto you is born this day in the City of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

And the shepherds said one to another, let us go now into Bethlehem, and see this thing which is came to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Lyrics:

A fateful night, quiet and still

A silent song of worship echoes

Through the mountains, rocks, and hills

A melody simple and slow,

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God!

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God!

Shepherds watch over their sheep

Scattered cross the singing hills

Resting their heads on pillows green

Dreaming songs of love and peace

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God

Alleluia!

The heavens opened up before them

Celestial visions filled the sky

Angelic voices filled the sky

On this night is born the Christ

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God

Alleluia, alleluia, Blest be the name of our God

Just as quickly as it came

The holy light before them faded

Left in darkness once again

But in their hearts the song remained

Alleluia!

Silent Night

Lyrics:

Silent night, holy night

All is calm, all is bright

'Round yon virgin mother and child

Holy infant so tender and mild

Sleep in Heavenly peace

Sleep in Heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night

Shepherds quake at the sight

Glories stream from heav'n afar

Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia

Christ the Savior is born

Christ the Savior is born!

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,

Alleluia, alleluia!

Silent night, holy night,

Son of God, love's pure light

Radiant beams from Thy holy face

With the dawn of redeeming grace

Alleluia, alleluia!

Jesus, Lord, Jesus Lord

Jesus, Lord at Thy birth!

Day Of Our Salvation (Anna & Simeon)

Narration:

There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon: He was righteous and devout, and he looked forward to the consolation of Israel, and the Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had seen the Messiah of the Lord.

There was also a prophetess named Anna who was of great age, having lived with her husband for seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was 84 years old. She did not depart from the temple, worshipping in fasting and prayer night and day.

These two disciples of Christ would soon meet the Savior at the temple. This song is their testimony looking forward to His coming.

Lyrics:

Years have passed since Heaven called him home

The passing time fails my grief to dull

Day and night I dwell these temple halls

That one day I may gain all I have lost

The spirit bids me to these temple doors

A promise made to me so long before

Whispers speak of Christ the Holy One

Has the day of our salvation come?

Oh come, oh come our long awaited King!

On Thee rests our every hope and dream!

Oh come, our consolation,

Oh come, oh Lord of Nations,

Has the day of our salvation come?

In every prayer, our every hope and plea

Every dove and lamb point us to Thee

Each sacrifice, each vigil, made in love

Until the day of our salvation come

Oh come, our consolation,

Oh come, oh Lord of Nations,

Has the day of our salvation come?

In My Arms (Joseph)

Narration:

We know little about the actual night of the Savior's birth, and we know even less about the thoughts and feelings of his earthly parents. These next two pieces explore the experiences and testimonies of Joseph and Mary and their interactions with the infant Messiah.

Lyrics:

In my arms I hold this child

On the floor of a cattle stall

A bed of hay in a manger, low

I lay the Savior, Lord of all

Why could it be that God above

Chose such a place to send His Son?

Born of light to a darkened sphere

Why is it, Lord, that You send Him here?

Could it be there's something to heaven

We do not know nor understand,

Gold and jewels do not Heaven make

Rather broken hearts and loving hands

Riches and wealth have I none

But all my days will I serve my Son!

I still know not why

Thou hast sent Him to me

But oh, my Lord, I will trust in Thee!

I still know not why

Thou hast sent Him to me

But oh, my Lord, I will trust in Thee!

A Mother's Prayer (Mary)

Lyrics:

Father, I'm overjoyed for the miracle in my arms

Transendence rests upon Him, His spirit whispers peace.

Father, I am in awe, Salvation sleeps on my breast

Come as fragile flesh and bone, to bless a weary world

The Heavens sing, and angels declare this is the promised Son of God

Blessed the name, the name of the Lord!

Rejoice for the prayers of Israel are heard!

I know not what tomorrow holds, the future is unknown

The way before me is dark, and I am sore afraid

So may Thy grace rest upon Him, and for Him the Heavens shake!

And hosts of angels divide the dark, and for Him provide the way!

Let heaven sing! Let angels declare this is the promised Son of God!

Blessed the name, the name of the Lord!

Rejoice for the prayers of Israel are heard!

This is my plea! This is my prayer! Encircle this precious Son of God!

Watch over Him with Thy watchful eye

I know He is Yours, but also He's mine

He is yours, and He's mine.

The First Noel

Lyrics:

The first noel, the angels did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay

In fields as they lay keeping their sheep, on a cold winter's night that was so deep

Noel, noel, noel, noel, born is the King of Israel!

They looked up and saw a star, shining in the east beyond them far

And to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night.

Noel, noel, noel, noel, born is the King of Israel!

Born is the King, Born is the King of Israel!

Noel, noel, noel, noel. Born is the King of Israel!

Christ is Born!

What Have We to Give? (Wisemen)

Narration:

And after Jesus was born in Bethlehem, magi came from the east to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews" We have seen his rising star, and have come to worship him." The rising star led them until it stood above where the child was. Rejoicing with great joy, and entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and kneeling down, they worshipped him. They opened their gifts, and offered him gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Lyrics:

We watched, we waited, for our hearts within us burned

We searched, we pleaded, and our yearnings heaven heard

For heaven could not restrain, such joyful precious news

Oh that we might worthy be, to meet the blessed Lord of Jews!

That I would be a witness of my Savior, Lord, and King

But what would be the purpose, to give this gift to one as me?

Dear Jesus, what have we to give to Thee?

We bring unto Thee, treasures of great worth

But to the very Son of God, what worth has frankincense and myrrh?

That I might be a witness of my Savior, Lord, and King

But what could be the purpose, to give this gift, to one as me?

Dear Jesus, what have we to give to Thee?

We watched, we waited, for our hearts within us burned,

We searched, we pleaded, and our yearnings, heaven heard

What have we to give to Him who gave us all?

But our word, our will, our witness, and hearts broken, bruised, and soft?

Dear Jesus, to Thee we give our love

Dear Jesus, to Thee we give our love!

Joy To The World

Lyrics:

Joy to the world, the Lord is come;

Let Earth receive her King!

Let evry heart prepare room

And saints and angels sing

And saints and angels sing

No more will sin and sorrow grow

Nor thorns infest the ground

He'll come and make the blessings flow

Far as the curse was found

Far as the curse was found

Rejoice, rejoice! When Jesus comes!

And saints their songs employ

While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains

Repeat the sounding joy!

Repeat the sounding joy!

Rejoice, rejoice in the Most High

While Israel spreads abroad!

Like stars that glitter in the skies and ever worship God!

And ever worship God!

And ever and ever worship God!

Joy to the world, Joy to the world!

The Lord is come!
